Appraisers and Appraisal Management Companies (AMC) in West Virginia are governed by the
Real Estate Licensing and Certification Act,
Appraisal Management Company Registration Act, and Title 190 of the Legislative Rules. These Acts and Rules have established the formation of the West Virginia Real Estate Licensing and Certification Board (WVREALCB) and its Advisory Committees which are responsible for the jurisdiction over registrants and license holders.
WVREALCB has the authority to make certain changes in order to provide specificity to the adopted Acts and Rules which outline the procedures for becoming a licensed Appraiser or AMC. The WVREALCB is also responsible for thorough investigation of any allegations against a licensee, and disciplinary action for the licensee if deemed necessary.
