Appraisal Board rules require that apprentices and licensees must take the 2020-2021 version of the 7-hour USPAP update by August 30, 2020 in order to renew your credential. If you fail to take the course by that date, you will not be allowed to renew until you take the course, which may result in a late fee. The course is awarded seven (7) hours of the required 14 hours of CE.
AMC REGISTRATION EXPIRATION DATE STATEMENT
The WV Real Estate Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (WVREALCB) realizes we are all experiencing new and trying times during the COVID-19 crisis.
Due to the crisis, we and other state agencies that factor into the renewal process (check processing and bond, continuation certificate, and POA review) are working under modified conditions. Board staff has been working and continues to work diligently processing annual registration renewals quickly under the circumstances.
On June 17, 2020, the WVREALCB suspended the Appraisal Management Company (AMC) registration expiration date of June 30th. Renewal registrations not issued to renewing AMCs by June 30 will not be deemed expired. Late fees will not be assessed to complete applications received or those received and considered “incomplete” until further notice.

The WVREALCB received confirmation from the Office of Governor Justice in Executive Order 9-20 that appraisers are included among the list of ESSENTIAL SERVICES. The WVREALCB will continue to distribute news regarding the appraisal profession and the COVID-19 crisis effects on it, as it is received.
